Pre Cadet Squad

Our Junior Programme corresponds to the Training to Train stage of the LTAD model and runs from around 9 or 10 years old until the child's 13th birthday when they transfer to our cadet programme.

At this stage, children begin to work in a more formal manner on the technical side of fencing, although they are all encouraged to move at their own pace and make choices about their training.  They begin to fence using the electrical scoring equipment and learn the rules of competitive fencing.

All Juniors are encouraged to participate in competitions across the country and we provide coaching support for all of these. We also have an annual trip to Poland to allow our young fencers to get a taste of international fencing at the Challenge Wratislavia.
