Cadets

Fencers move into our cadet section on their 13th birthday. They receive support and coaching at competitions and are also encouraged to develop their own leadership and refereeing skills by supporting younger fencers and refereeing at junior competitions.  

Those who wish to go down the path of pursuing cadet rankings with a view to seeking selection on the national team are invited to join our intensive Elite Cadet Programme.

We encourage all our fencers, whether selected or not, to have the experience of at least one international competition during this time.  For those who do not get onto the national squads, we endeavour to create the opportunity to attend non selective competitions in Europe.  Coaching support is provide as far as is possible at any international competition attended by our fencers.
