Safety in Fencing
The safety of our fencers is paramount at all times and we ask members and parents to support us in this. We will not tolerate any action or behaviour which we believe may put the fencer or anyone else at risk.
Rules
We have a set of rules that all fencers should be aware of to ensure they participate safely in the session. All our fencers are expected to comply with these rules at all times and our U10s spend part of every session learning and reviewing these.
Equipment
For hygiene reasons, we do not offer any shared kit in the club. Fencers must purchase their own kit, or use our kit hire scheme.
Kit Hire
Through this scheme, we provide a full set of kit for a small monthly fee. Items are replaced when outgrown or when needed as a result of damage. All kit is good quality, up to date Leon Paul kit. Fencers on Full Membership receive a full set of FIE (800N) kit and this is extended as much as stocks allow to our younger fencers.
Kit Purchase
Fencers may also provide their own kit but this must be from good quality, recognised suppliers and must be up to date, fit well and be in good condition. Coaches reserve the right to forbid the use of any equipment they believe to be questionable in terms of safety.
